The D290 series is designed to be used exclusively with the Nespresso hermetically sealed capsule containing a precise amount of freshly roasted and ground coffee. With 9 premium coffee blends available, you are sure to find a perfect match for your palette. The aroma and flavor are protected until you are ready to brew. The individual serving capsule system is extremely easy to use. Brew one espresso, cappuccino or latte at a time. Eliminate the hassle and mess of grinding, scooping and tamping your coffee as you would with traditional expresso machines. The machine features a revolutionary jaw device. By simply opening the jaw, the used capsule is ejected into the collection receptacle in the body of the machine. Electronic sensors detect when the collection receptacle is full and alerts the user that when it is time to empty. Cleanup is a snap - never touch the coffee grinds. With the jaw handle up, you are ready to insert a new pod to make your next cup. The automatic brewing controls will brew the precise amount of espresso by simply pressing one button. The pump starts and stops automatically. The two available cup size buttons are easy to program so you get your perfect cup each and every time. The Nespresso D290 espresso machine helps you make milk based espresso beverages a snap. The steaming system give you the option of using a traditional steam wand or an automatic steam nozzle that draws milk from a container and dispenses either frothed milk for cappuccinos or steamed milk for lattes and mochas directly into your cup. The D290 is a single boiler unit, but heat up time for steaming is quick and the machine automatically starts a flush into the drip pan so the machine is ready to make another espresso when you are.
